I don't know what's going on over there. Sometimes her server gets overheated from all the traffic. I'm pretty sure she uses a real hosting service of some kind.

I do get weary of the absolutists who demand perfection or nothing. I feel for Palin, who is getting a tiny taste of the huge can of misogyny Hillary would have gotten if she had been nominated. But I see no reason not to be glad of a slight shift to left, even if the patriarchy is unmentioned and male supremacy continues to be the norm. Where others seem to want sudden revolutionary changes, I want gradual change left. Gradual changes are harder to stop, once started.

I have a feeling that Obama will do more for women than women seem to think. Sure, he's a misogynist, is openly patronizing of women, and has ignored their specific issues. But he's still leading the country leftward, and that will lead away from authoritarianism. Right wing love of authority is the root of all evil.

I couldn't agree more. Since McCain isn't the brightest bulb in the closet, this pick smells like Karl Rove. Divide and conquer; he knows all the tricks. It's working. Amazingly (to me), some feminists have decided the Dems are just as bad as the Reps. I suspect that anyone who claims to be feminist but would vote for McPain must be hiding something - some other reason for hating Barack. He's no saint, but sure seems like one by comparison.

I've been posting about this (perhaps excessively) over at Twisty's, but suddenly I'm getting messages like this:

The milliondollartarts artist's web portal is no longer available. Thankyou for visiting

This is freakin' the Freida out. I knew she's moving the physical HQ, but the cyberspace one, too? She hasn't posted in over a week, and I'm concerned. Ike wiped out Galveston, but I didn't think it did so much harm to Austin. Maybe she's incredibly busy; I hope she's OK.
